Biographical Resume

Karan  Reshad , born in 1982 – Tehran / Iran .

1998  Participating in Aidin dogan International cartoon Exhibition -Turky

1998-2001   employed as  Cover Designer in Gozaresh Film(Film Report) Magazine ( one of the  two important  and  credible Cinematic  Journals  during 60s and 70s in Iran  

1999   Entering the Azad Islamic University of Art and Architecture ( My branch of study was Industrial Design / Product Design)

2000   Publishing a Book " Turn  the Night " about  Metal Music generation and the philosophy of the Genere +Persian Translation of  Black Sabbath lyrics and Band profile( as a good sample of the Blood)

2003    Temporary  dismissal From The university .(-Arguing with the president about limitations in the University )

2003    The establishment of  ‘kolahstudio’ (An Art and Research project and Art Basement) which includes young and pioneering Iranian artists and Researching translators )

2004     Permanent Dismissal from the University .( Arguing with the president about Islamic limitations in the University)

2005  Establishment of My personal painting Studio .  

2005  Oct "Tan-ha" painting  Exhibition  Seyhoun Art Gallery Tehran

2005   Nov. The First Exhibition of Kolahstudio Painters - Behzad Gallery Tehran

Note From The Artist:

... The True artist does not intend to create beauty but he decides to express beautifully. Namely, recreating beauty is not regarded as the objective of art (especially today’s Art). The important matter, beyond all modern art movements, is achieving a degree of artistic / philosophic (intuitive) perception and trait with which the artist starts epitomizing an impressive expression not the beauty. The beauty being derived from Nature( the source of beauty), emerges in artist’s way of expression.  

Through such viewpoint, the art seeker is someone who is after Understanding the wisdom hidden in life (self-examination) and the artist is regarded as a person expressing his will. In other word artist confides his devices in his free and untamed trait to express his will .

Friendly talk:

       My ideal  painters are Van Gough , Rivera, Ensor , Bacon  . I have been painting , using various styles and materials such as  tiny litter , sprays , industrial colors along with oil color and   acrylic paints  since 2 years ago . I have found these experiences very enjoyable . I like to paint ,

        using different colors and  on different surfaces such as cardboard , cloth( textile) ,   wood and smooth metal surfaces which are found  among litter and rubbish .

          Since I am very interested in graffiti and because of its prohibition and restrictions   in Islamic Republic of Iran , I am personally painting graffiti in my neighborhood,and collecting Iranian Urban Art Images ,through this mentioned experience I got a positive response from the inhabitants.

   I’m Now Working On a new phase ,I like to escape from My  Alone portraits and try to Express my  Ideas with more mature style.

There are people who understand and do not live ,and There are others that live but do not Understand . The first kind cannot Ever Really reach the second, even though they understand them. And the Second Can never Understand the Essence, but then it doesn’t matter. The feeling of Love or Hate, Liking some body or The possibility of learning to like some one, exists, but The categories  of understanding Do not exist For them.
